The incoming ‘The Batman’ movie, directed by Matt Reeves, is set to bring back the character of Bruce Wayne in the DC Universe.
Various big names in the Hollywood industry have reportedly signed on, with others in negotiations to be a part of the movie.
It has already been confirmed that Robert Pattinson will portray the leading role that is Bruce Wayne. Nicholas Hoult was initially considered to play the caped crusader in the upcoming Batman movie.
Excited about the project, Pattinson told the media, ‘It’s kind of insane. I was so far away from ever thinking it was a realistic prospect.’
Besides, we also know that Zoe Kravitz will be handling the role of Catwoman in the next big Warner Bros. production. Jeffrey Wright has reportedly signed on as Gotham Police Commissioner ‘Gordon’ late last month.
And now, as per a report courtesy of Variety, it appears that Paul Dano will take care of one of the villain roles, The Riddler (Edward Nashton). It has not yet been confirmed by the studio, so we suggest you take the information with the usual grain of salt.
If the report is true, the 35-year-old actor from the movie There Will Be Blood is set to play opposite leading man Robert Pattinson.
Previously there have been reports that Jonah Hill turned down the role of The Riddler after a series of back and forths.
Pre-production on the film is expected to begin this summer. The shooting of the film will begin sometime shortly after. If all goes well, Matt Reeves-directed ‘The Batman’ will hit the theatres on June 25, 2021.
