Mercedes-Benz debuts its EQV Electric Van with a 250-mile range

The German luxury automobiles brand revealed its latest EQV concept electric van online which is an addition to its EQ brand. This was done a month ahead of its global debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show of 2019. The van is almost an electric-battery version of the V-class, and the design is something we are familiar with.

Just like its predecessors, such as the EQA concept and the EQC crossover SUV, the EQV electric van features headlights that have sweeping chrome strips in front of it and a black radiator grille. Like the other EQ electric automobiles, the EQV comes with five-spoke wheels and is almost similar to the EQV’s concept-save for the bright aqua accent. The van has a very attracting look overall.

This electric van will enable the driver to experience a 201 horsepower and 250-mile range which will be provided by a 90-kWh lithium-ion battery. The front of the EQV houses an electric motor, a fixed-gear transmission, and cooling systems. With the idea to save cargo space, the lithium-ion batteries are situated under the floor.

There has been no mention of the time it’ll take to charge the van in its 11-kW charging box or a standard socket. However, with DC charging, the battery will juice up to 80% in just 45 minutes.

The EQV boasts of a regenerative braking system solely controlled by the driver. There is a paddle on the left that strengthens the regenerative system while the paddle on the right tones it down. The “Eco Assistant” that comes along will take account of the navigation data and adjust the recovery levels as required.

The EQV has attractive interiors with intricate designs and colors. The blue leather with rose-gold contrast stitches along with a silver material that lines the air vents give an overall luxurious outlook. The dashboard with rose-gold accents sprinkled on it has a 10-inch display equipped with the latest MBUX- infotainment system. The vehicle has standard six-seats, but it even is turned into an eight-seat car with a bench row.

A full glimpse of the Mercedes EQV can be seen at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
