After bidding adieu to his portrayal of Iron-Man character in Avengers: Endgame, Robert Downey Jr is back with a bang in a fantasy drama film, Dolittle, where he portrays a physician who can talk to animals.
The upcoming remake of Dr Dolittle franchise that originally starred Eddie Murphy in the main role will see RDJ embarking on an adventurous journey with his gang of animal friends.
The trailer has already become a hit since its release as it shows the actor in this never-seen-before, weird avatar as a morose physician who gradually gains his courage to go on an adventure to find a cure for the queen.
The two-minute-long trailer opens with a revised version of Louis Armstrong’s classic song, What a Wonderful World.
The trailer shows the various challenges the team has to endure along the journey. The team includes an troubled gorilla (handled by Rami Malek), a bird-brained duck (played by Octavia Spencer), a polar bear (portrayed by John Cena) who constantly argues with an ostrich (taken care of by Kumail Nanjiani), and his closest companion, a strong-willed parrot (handled by Emma Thompson).
The film also has Antonio Banderas, Michael Sheen, Tom Holland, and Ralph Fiennes.
Originally titled The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle, it was later renamed by Universal Studios and postponed from its original April 12, 2019, release date to January 17, 2020.
